Free is the whole kitchen, not a demonstration of it. Plus pays for the parts that cost more the more you use them.
There are two plans and one of them costs nothing. Free is not a trial, and what it does it does without a limit: unlimited manual entry, unlimited recipes, unlimited cooking.
Creating value has a cost
None of that is free to provide, though. Every account has machines, storage and somebody to answer the email behind it from the day it opens, whether it is paid for or not.
The usual way to cover that is advertising, and advertising generally means the personal information behind it is what is really being sold. We would rather not build that, so we have not.
iWhisk is self funded, so Plus is simply what pays for Free. It is a slower way to build something, and it is the reason the lines below fall where they do.

Prices are in US dollars. Before you are ever asked to pay, we show you the exact amount and the exact date of the renewal. There is no lifetime price and we are not planning one. We will not claim unlimited AI, because nobody can afford to mean it.

An honest answer about costs
Running every account does cost us money each month, and we cover that through paid subscriptions. We have worked hard to build these features so the cost of using them again comes down to almost nothing, which is why there is nothing here we need to limit. We always want to create value for free and paid members alike.

Metered, because the cost grows with every use
Each of these asks a model to read something, and every request has a real cost at our end. Where a number is not printed below, the app shows you what you have left before you use it. A receipt scan counts only when it succeeds and gives you something usable: a failed or unreadable scan costs you nothing. Manual entry is always there and always unlimited.

Capped, because the cost grows with every file kept
You see a count of photographs, never a size in gigabytes, because nobody thinks in gigabytes. Keeping a photo is included on Free. Having Cooper read one is a Plus capability, which is why it sits in the group above rather than this one.

What does Plus cost?
$9.99 a month, or $99.99 a year. Prices are in US dollars.
What will I be charged when it renews?
A monthly plan renews at $9.99 and a yearly plan at $99.99. You are shown the exact amount and the exact date before you pay anything, and the same information stays visible in Account and settings afterwards.
Can I get the founding offer now?
No. It opens when iWhisk leaves early access. When it does, monthly is $4.99 for the first two billing cycles and then $9.99, and yearly is $89.99 for the first year and then $99.99. See the founding offer.
Is there a lifetime price?
No, and there is not going to be one. A lifetime price is a promise about costs nobody can predict, and the honest version of it is a subscription you can cancel.
Does Free run out?
No. Free is not a trial and there is no countdown on it. Manual entry, saved recipes, and cooking a plan you already have are unlimited today and we have no plans to change that.
We are deliberately not promising you "free forever", because that is a promise about a company's whole future and nobody can honestly make it. What we will commit to is this: if Free ever changes, it will be said plainly on this page before it happens, not discovered by you afterwards.
What Free does not include is the handful of things whose cost grows every time they run. Those are listed in the comparison.
If Free costs you money, who is paying for it?
People on Plus, and nobody else. There is no advertising in iWhisk and we do not sell your personal information to anyone, which are the two usual ways a free product is quietly paid for.
That is also why Free is drawn the way it is. We are not trying to make it frustrating enough to force an upgrade. We are trying to make it genuinely useful and then hope that enough people find Plus worth paying for, which is a harder way to run a business and the only one we are willing to run.
What counts as a receipt scan?
Only one that works. A scan counts when it succeeds and returns something usable, and it counts even if you then decide not to save the result. A scan that fails, or that comes back unreadable, costs you nothing and you can try again.
What happens when I have used my five scans?
They come back on the first day of the next calendar month. In the meantime manual entry is unlimited, so nothing stops you adding your shopping, it just takes longer.
Resetting your food activity or deleting recipes does not give a used scan back.
Why are some allowances not printed here?
Because we have not finished setting them, and publishing a number we are about to change is worse than saying so. What we will not do is imply they are unlimited.
Where a capability has an allowance we have not published, the app shows you what you have left before you use it, not after.
How many photographs can I keep?
100 on Free and 250 on Plus, counted as photographs rather than as gigabytes.
A photograph you upload while building something and then abandon is deleted after seven days. We do not keep photos you did not use.
If Plus builds a Cooking Lane, do I pay again every time I cook it?
No. Building the plan is the part that costs money, because that is when Cooper does the work. Once you accept a plan it is private, it is yours, and reopening it, cooking from it, the timers and the hands free guidance all cost nothing further.
How do I cancel, and can I get a refund?
Plus is not purchasable yet, so there is nothing to cancel today. The cancellation route and the refund position will both be stated here, and in the Terms, before anyone is able to pay.
