Privacy: what is private, and what is not

Everything is private by default. Sharing is a deliberate act, and it is reversible.

Account

  • Your Kitchen. Private. Never shared, never linked.
  • Your recipes. Private.
  • Your notes for Chef Cooper. Private to your household. Not shared with the recipe, and not used to train a shared model.
  • Your Journey and progress. Private.
  • Your preferences and dietary boundaries. Private.
  • Health context. Off unless you turn it on. Removable at any time.
  • A recipe you gave a private link. Visible to anyone with that link, view only, that recipe only.

What is not retained

Photographs are not kept. When you photograph your fridge, freezer or pantry, the image is processed to identify what is in it and is then discarded. The identified items are what build your Kitchen, not the picture.

Receipt images are handled the same way. The items are read from the receipt, and the image itself is not retained.

The Privacy Policy governsThis page is a plain-language summary. Where it differs from the published Privacy Policy, the policy is what applies.
