Part 07 · The practical bit · When something is wrong
Troubleshooting
The handful of things that actually go wrong, and what to do about each.
7.03.1
The camera will not open
On the web, your browser asks for camera permission the first time. If you dismissed it, allow camera access for iwhisk.io in your browser's site settings and reload. On a phone, enable camera permission for iWhisk in your device settings. Still nothing? Use Choose photo and take the picture with your normal camera app first.
7.03.2
A recipe link will not work
Check the link is complete and starts with https. Some sites do not allow their pages to be read; when that happens iWhisk offers a paste box, and 40 characters or more of ingredients and method is enough. No usable text at all? Screenshot it and use the photo route.
7.03.3
iWhisk did not recognise something
Items below the confidence threshold are left unticked on purpose. Tap to include and correct the name. Or retake with more light and less clutter, one shelf at a time. Or add it by hand from Kitchen.
7.03.4
A use-by date looks wrong
Change it. Tap the date field and type the correct date as YYYY-MM-DD. Clear the field to remove the date entirely.

Guided Cooking says the recipe needs a review
The recipe has no usable steps. Edit it, add or confirm the method, then start cooking.
7.03.6
I cannot create another collection
The limit is five. Rename or delete one you are not using.
