Part 06 · The long game · Rhythm

Rhythm, and the day you are allowed to miss

Cook, rescue or capture on a day and it counts. Miss one day in a week and nothing breaks.

Where this is in iWhisk

Journey, the rhythm chip

Rhythm is the iWhisk version of a streak, with the cruelty removed. Any day where you cook something, rescue something, or save a capture is a day that counts. Doing all three on one day still counts as one day, so there is nothing to gain by cramming.

6.04.1

One free day a week

Each week gives you a single day you can miss without breaking anything. It is applied automatically and silently. There is no button and nothing to remember.

Miss two days in the same week and the current run returns to zero.

6.04.2

Your best run is kept

Breaking a run does not erase it. The longest rhythm you have ever held stays on your record permanently, whatever the current number happens to say.

💡
Why the free day existsAn all-or-nothing streak punishes the day you were ill, travelling, or eating at somebody else’s house. People who lose one of those often abandon the whole thing rather than start again at zero. One forgiven day removes most of that.
